Intercession

This week, I have been bombarding heaven with prayers for myself.

I have a need that only God can meet.

I have asked God to forgive me of any sin that could hinder my prayers.

I also reminded God of all that I have sacrificed in His name, desperately seeking justification for why He should answer my request.

Then this morning, I read Exodus 39:7, which reminds me that the priest represents the people to God.

When a priest goes before the Lord, he is supposed to make sacrifices on behalf of the people.

His job is to ask God to forgive their sins and answer the request.

The Holy Spirit then reminded me that Jesus Christ is my high priest and He himself is already asking OUR Heavenly Father to answer my request.

Jesus died with my sin on him.

He used his own body as a sacrifice to present me to the Lord.

Through His resurrection, He can now present me as spotless because His blood has cleansed my unrighteousness.

Today…He still makes intercession for me while he sits at the right hand of the Father.

My prayer can now be this simple:

1. Make my request known to God with thanksgiving and in the name of Jesus.

2. Walk in faith that Jesus represents me well and that my Heavenly Father knows my need!

3. Believe that my Heavenly Father is always willing to give me good gifts.
