We must be careful as we set ourselves to pray for a brother or sister in Christ. Let’s make sure to pray that God’s will be done, not what we THINK needs to be done.
In Mark 2:4-5 some friends lowered their paralyzed friend’s mat into the house where Jesus was ministering, they didn't make a specific request. Getting their friend to Jesus was their only aim, they left the healing up to Jesus.
According to Matthew 18:19 we can also ask our friends what they are praying for and then come to an agreement with them in prayer.
Praying for what I think my friend SHOULD want instead of what they are REALLY ASKING FOR could be one reason neither prayer has been answered.
Coming into agreement with God’s will and the prayers of those we pray for are KEY 🔑 to seeing our prayers answered.
”“This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, you will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.“
Matthew 6:9-10 NIV
”Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”“
Mark 2:4-5 NIV
” Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.“
Matthew 18:19 NIV
